Is Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) Important For Cure Hair Loss?

What is Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2)?
PGD2 is a prostaglandin.
Prostaglandins are hormone-like lipid compounds in the body. Prostaglandin binds to a receptor that causes a change in the body.
There are many different prostaglandins and many different receptors.
Different prostaglandins have different effects depending on which receptor is involved. These interactions are responsible for a wide range of functions, including:

The theory says that hair loss has come to fruition when attached to the GPD2 receptor GPR44.
To put it very simply, PGD2 + GPR44 = hair loss.
This causal link was established in a study by Cotsarelis et al.
“We show that prostaglandin D2 synthase (PTGDS) is elevated in mRNA and protein levels in bald head skin and AGA men in relation to hairy head skin.The prostaglandin D2 (PGD2), the product of PTGDS enzyme activity, similarly rises in bald head skin […] We also show that PGD2 inhibits hair growth when administered topically in explanted human hair follicles and mice. The main findings of the study were:
-The degree of PGD2 enzyme is much higher (about 3 times higher) than that of hairless hair in sparkling hair
-Increased PGD2 levels prevent hair growth
-Non-GPR44 receptor mice were not affected by these elevated PGD2 levels –
The hypothesis of these findings is that the disruption of the PGD2-GPR44 pathway will stop hair loss.
